Using eduroam on Windows 7
To use Eduroam on a windows 7 machine it is preferred to use the SecureW2 Client. The SecureW2 client is a network credentials manger for Windows, and ensures a safe connection to the Eduroam network. There is a reconfigured client available from the gbar Download page. The installation is straight foward, just follow the instructions given by the installer. When the client have been installed you should be able to connect to eduroam. If you still are having problems, try the manual setup of eduroam.
Manual setup of Eduroam
- First open up your Network and Sharing Center from the Control Panel
- Choose the Set up a new connection or network item
- Choose Manually connect to a wireless network
- Type in eduroam in the Network name, furthermore choose WPA2-Enterprise in Security type. Also choose AES for Encryption type. When done click next
After this you will see a message saying Successfully added Eduroam
- Then click Change connection settings
- Under the Security tab be sure that the SecureW2: SecureW2 EAP-TTLS is chosen then Click the settings
- Be sure that the eduroam profile has been chosen and click ok
Eduroam is now configured. Click "ok" (a couple of times) to quit. Now you should be ready to connect to Eduroam with your student credentials ([DTU userid]@dtu.dk and password)
